53 Packard - Mattawamkeag, Maine - 2010
Off the beaten path in north central Maine stands the town of Mattawamkeag Maine. I had spent the better part of the day traveling Northbound on a two lane road heading nowhere. The road had become boring. It was time to beat the path even less traveled. Luck intervened as I turned onto a road that intersected at the edge of a rather large field of rusted cars. The Packard was right out in front of the field. Rain showers had pounded the area in the early hours of the morning. The field was now buzzing with the sounds of mosquitos. I decided to work as fast as possible and keep the composition simple and isolate the front grill. This image reminds me of a grumpy old weatherbeaten face. The image was shot using an 8”x20” view camera.
